Paddy straw mushroom: understand the problem in context.

Warm, short-cycle beds and straw handling need their own crop-health approach. Button mushroom temperature or storage recipes are not interchangeable.

Three things to record first

  1. Record straw condition, preparation, bed construction and weather exposure.
  2. Photograph competitor fruit bodies without eating or mixing them into harvest.
  3. Check harvest and storage timing when deterioration appears after picking.
Normal is not always the same across mushrooms

Rapid developmental changes are part of this crop; an overmature fruit body is different from a mould colony.

Evidence boundary: Historical Indian bulletin and green-mould host records support coverage. Current local pathogen incidence and treatment approvals need separate verification.

Unexpected forms or lesions after cleaning, spraying or nearby fuel use need an exposure history as well as a disease differential.

Rosecomb is classically described in Agaricus; broader crop filters cover exposure investigation, not identical symptoms.

Green mould in oyster and other bags

A bag can contain competing mould before green colour is visible. Oyster-associated Trichoderma species differ from the main button-mushroom epidemic species.

Detailed pathogen evidence exists for Pleurotus; the other listed crops have published green-mould host reports, not a shared diagnosis.

Rapidly spreading orange growth is an operational contamination problem. A history of food use for selected Neurospora strains does not make an unknown colony safe.
