Inspect the system

Practical workbook

Manage structure, water and air in Phase I

Phase I transforms the mixed materials. Moisture, the spaces between particles and air movement act together; a dense wet pocket can behave differently from the rest of a batch.

Compare representative locations and review the actual wetting, mixing, turning or aeration sequence. One temperature reading is not a batch profile.
