There is no published Indian figure for commercial cold chain shelf life of fresh button mushroom. The 2011 manual says only that it can be stored at 4 C for a few days without deterioration, and that fresh marketing is still preferable.
The Hindi farmer folder gives the small grower's version: about 12 hours at ambient temperature after picking, and 2 to 3 days in a household refrigerator.
