The last day of a crop is the most powerful disease control day you have. NHB records a cook out of the spent compost at 70 C held for 12 hours to kill pathogen mycelium and spores, and 70 C for 2 to 3 hours for insect pests.
Spent compost and used casing then go well away from the rooms, into a pit covered with at least 10 cm of manure, which stops flies breeding in it.
