Record: Representative temperatures, turning and gypsum days, material observations and validated process readings.
Get a long-stem thermometer that reads to at least 90 °C.
Fix three points: centre, mid-depth and 15 cm under the surface, read daily at the same hour.
At each turning record colour, structure, moisture assessment and the validated process readings; do not deliberately inhale compost gases.
Plot the centre line, mark the turning days, and compare with 65 to 70 °C by day 2 to 3.
