Course map
Every lesson opens with objectives and a diagram, carries sourced numbers, ends with a farm task and three questions.
- 01Species SelectionOyster mushroom, dhingri, is not one mushroom but a family. Pick the wrong member for your month and the bags stay white or fruit brown and thin.
- 02Substrate & PreparationStraw is cheap, but untreated straw is a race between your mushroom and every mould in the field. The treatment you choose decides who wins.
- 03Bag Preparation & Spawn RunFor two to three weeks the bag looks like nothing is happening. Reading a bag in that silence separates a full room from a pit of green straw.
- 04Fruiting EnvironmentAn oyster mushroom with a long stalk and a tiny cap is not a variety. It is a message about the air in your room.
- 05Harvest, Problems & BusinessThe mushroom you pick at six in the morning is worth the most it will ever be. Every hour after that you are selling a fading product.
