Course map
Every lesson opens with objectives and a diagram, carries sourced numbers, ends with a farm task and three questions.
- 01Warm-Climate ContextMilky mushroom welcomes the heat that ruins a button crop. In the months when a button room needs a chiller, dudhiya keeps cropping in an ordinary shed.
- 02Substrate & Spawn RunMilky mushroom needs no compost, only clean straw, hot water and patience. The crop is decided in the two days before spawning.
- 03Casing & Case DevelopmentA fully white bag of milky mushroom will sit for weeks and give nothing. The casing layer is what turns colonised straw into mushrooms.
- 04Light, Fruiting & HarvestFrom here the crop tells you what it needs. Long stalks, small caps and spotted skins are all messages about light, air and water.
